Scrile MCP Connector: How to Edit Your Website with ChatGPT or Claude - Scrile

If your site runs on Scrile Connect, the Scrile MCP connector lets you edit your landing page by chatting with ChatGPT or Claude. You write what you want to change in plain words, the AI shows you the edit, and after your OK it goes live on your site. This guide shows how to connect the AI to your site in 3 steps and what to know before your first edit.

What the Scrile MCP connector does

The Scrile MCP connector links your Scrile Connect landing page to an AI agent: Claude or ChatGPT. In your admin panel it is called the AI connector. It works through MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard that AI agents use to connect to other tools. After you connect it, the agent can read your landing page and change it on your request.

Here is what you can ask the agent to do:

describe what is on your landing page now;
change headlines, texts and buttons;
upload and replace images;
add sliders, carousels and accordions;
add Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Yandex Metrica, a Meta pixel or a TikTok pixel: give the agent your counter ID and it puts the code on the page;
redesign a section or build a new landing page from scratch;
restore any previous version of the page.

How to set up the Scrile MCP connector in ChatGPT or Claude: 3 steps

Step 1. Get your connection URL

Open your admin dashboard.
Go to Pages.
Find the AI connector card and click Generate connection URL.
Copy the URL right away. It is shown only once. If you lose it, click Regenerate URL to get a new one.

The URL contains your secret access key. Keep it private and do not post it anywhere public.

Step 2. Add the URL to Claude or ChatGPT

Claude (web and desktop app)

Open Settings, then Connectors.
Click Add custom connector.
Enter any name, paste your connection URL and click Add.
Open a new chat. The connector is ready to use there.

Claude Code

Run this command in a terminal and put your own URL in place of the example:

claude mcp add --transport http scrile-landing "https://mcp.example.com/mcp/your-key"

Type /mcp inside Claude Code to check that the connector works.

ChatGPT

Open Settings, then Connectors. On some plans this section is called Apps & Connectors, and you first need to turn on Developer mode in the advanced settings.
Click Create.
Enter any name, paste your connection URL, set Authentication: None and click Create.
In a chat, turn on the connector to use it.

Custom connectors are not available on every ChatGPT plan and in every region. If you do not see the Connectors section, check your ChatGPT plan or use Claude.

Step 3. Ask for your first change

Write to the agent the same way you would write to a person. For example:

“Show me my current landing page.”
“Change the main headline to: Exclusive content from your favorite creator.”
“Replace the image in the first section with this one: [link].”
“Add an image slider to the top section.”
“Add my Google Analytics, the ID is G-XXXXXXXXXX.”
“Undo the last change.”

How to add images

You can give the agent an image in 3 ways:

A public image link. Paste a link to any public image. This works in every AI agent, including ChatGPT.
An image in the chat. Paste or attach a picture and ask the agent to put it on the page.
A file from your computer. In Claude Code, the agent gives you a one-time command to upload the file. This is the best way for large images.

Supported formats: PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP, SVG, AVIF and ICO, up to 10 MB per image. ChatGPT cannot read files from your computer, so use a link or paste the picture into the chat.

What to know before your first edit

Edits go live right away. The agent changes your real, published landing page. Before it saves, it shows you the change and asks you to confirm. Always read what it is about to do.
You can roll back any edit. A copy of the page is saved before every change. Ask the agent to “restore the previous version” at any time.
After the first AI edit, the visual editor is no longer available for that page. The page gets an AI managed badge in your admin panel, and from then on you edit it through the AI agent only. This is the main thing to decide before you start.
A reset keeps AI mode. If you delete the landing page in the admin panel, it goes back to the default template, and you keep editing it through the agent.
Third-party code works. The agent can add analytics counters, chat widgets or booking forms. If a widget does not show up, ask the agent to open the page preview and check the code.

How to control access

The AI connector card in your admin panel shows when the access key was created and when it was last used. Click Regenerate URL to issue a new URL: the old one stops working at once, and connected agents need the new URL. Click Revoke access to turn the connector off until you create a new URL.

What is the Scrile MCP connector?

It is a feature of Scrile Connect that gives Claude or ChatGPT access to your landing page through MCP. After you add your connection URL to the AI agent, you can edit the page in a chat.

Can I edit my website with ChatGPT for free?

The Scrile MCP connector is part of your Scrile Connect plan. On the ChatGPT side, custom connectors depend on your ChatGPT plan and region. If your plan does not have them, you can use Claude.

Will the AI change my site without asking me?

The agent is set up to show each change and ask for your confirmation before it saves. A copy of the page is saved before every change, so you can go back to any earlier version.

Can I switch back to the visual editor?

No. Once the AI edits a page, that page is edited through the AI agent only. Even after a reset to the default template, the page stays in AI mode.

What if the agent says my key is invalid?

This means the URL was regenerated or revoked in the admin panel. Create a new URL and update it in your AI agent’s connector settings.
